  • How I was stimulated

"Originally I thought I would save it for a rainy day. Then I thought I would add a lower cost guitar to my collection. I did buy one, but sold it to my friend at the same price I paid for it. I think the stimulus check really touched my heart and prompted me to start the 401K here at work and I am adding 6% a week to it. (100% company match, so why not?) I did go out and but a tire for the motorcycle, some work clothes and treated myself to a few nice dinners. Thank you U.S.A. I am proud to be an American"

  • New skates for roller derby!

"I bought myself new skates for roller derby! For the last year I've been loving life as a Rat City Rollergirl Sockit Wench. (pictured above in blue) www.ratcityrollergirls.com My first pair of skates were awful, they hurt my feet and were two sizes too big. I spent all but $1.98 of my stimulus check on a brand new pair of pretty white skates with shiny aluminum plates. Now that I have top of the line skates that fit appropriately, I can skate better, faster and kick a lot more butt! *Photo by Crash Zone Photography"

  • Our House is now a Home!

"Two little ladies knocked at our door and decided to give birth to 9 kittens. A cat lady by nature you know what happened next. You fall in love and well you end up with 9 kids running about. So yea my money went to the kids. Can't have any claws, balls, and uteruses flying about. Thank God the vet gives discounts! Woo-Hoo! And I did by a pretty little sundress for myself. Which they love to all hang from."

  • Government has Something Wrong!

"$1,300 of my $1,500 check went to my husband's illegitimate child who doesn't even carry his last name! The remaining $200 helped buy much needed clothing for my three children and some prescription medications. Still leaves on living on Food Stamps and searching for jobs to help fuel our one car. GET THIS: A Stimulus check came to this house addressed to the person in the picture, who happens to be here illegally from Mexico. There are also people actually living in Mexico who with the help of a P.O. Box in Texas, receive Social Security Checks and have never worked a day in their lives in the United States. How does that happen?"

  • $1200 For a Family of 4

"My husband and I brought some much needed summer gear for our kids, Julia who is now 15 and Jake who is 13. Kids outgrow clothes at such an enormous rate it's mind boggling. LOL! Also hubby and I after making sure the kids were taken care of brought ourselves some clothes. The remaining amount went towards gas and food of course! Oh by the way we received $1200 for a family of four."

  • Shopping Bags

"I was not really out to stimulate the economy, I just happened to receive my check the same day that I went shopping. The rest of the money went into my checking account, waiting to be eaten up by gas & groceries.

For the record, I ended up hating the shoes I bought (though obviously they seemed like a good idea at the time). But the clothes turned out OK."

  • It's the little things that count...

"I spent my check on a few things. Got some groceries, started a small herb garden, got a much needed haircut, cleaning products, some treats for my dog, a video game for my boyfriend, took ourselves out to a nice dinner and bought some new clothes for work. Needless to say all of it is gone and I still have a list of things that I should have gotten. Oh well, figured I should treat myself (and my boyfriend) while I could. Are we gonna get these again next year?? "

  • Where did all that money go?

"My husband and I have 5 children so we received $2100. I really cannot figure out how $2100 got spent within a week, but I know that the majority of it went towards gasoline (we are at $4.15/gallon here in IL) and groceries (Walmart) and bills. I did spend $100 at oldnavy.com and I did pay $212 for my summer college course that I am taking next week. I also spent about $300 on food and beverages for my graduation party. Other than that, I don't know where it went! "
