Stimulus not enough
"We recently moved across country so we could live in a cheaper area. NOT! All our stimulus check went to buy gas to get my husband to & from work, and groceries. With all the rising costs we still can't afford anything. It's costing us over $500 just to get my husband to work every month! And to think I thought that maybe I would pay down some debt and maybe by myself something fun. "

Bills Bills Bills
"We just made some payments on the credit card and regular bills. Would have loved to buy a 50", but necessities come first. It was gone before we knew it!"

Privacy Fence
"We used our stimulus check to help pay for a new fence that we put up in our back yard. We recently purchased a dog and are planning on children so that was a big priority for us. The check didn't cover the entire cost of the fence, but we used $900 to cover a portion of the builder and used the other $300 on miscellaneous spending."

$1200 For a Family of 4
"My husband and I brought some much needed summer gear for our kids, Julia who is now 15 and Jake who is 13. Kids outgrow clothes at such an enormous rate it's mind boggling. LOL! Also hubby and I after making sure the kids were taken care of brought ourselves some clothes. The remaining amount went towards gas and food of course! Oh by the way we received $1200 for a family of four."

Catching Up On Bills
"Being a recent widow I did the only thing I could do, tried to catch up on the bills I was left when my husband passed away. I don't really remember what I specifically spent it on, I just know it didn't go near far enough. "

People are starving
"Well, considering everything in this world wet up in the past year- I spent it on food, and gas. What i don't understand, is how the cost of living is rising, but we all still get paid the same. 60% of houses bought in sacramento, ca last year went into foreclosure. People are losing everything. no one has any money. I can't find a job. And i have the most generic occupation. Half of everyone I know got laid off, because there is no funding. What are people going to do?"

Struggling Single Parents
"I am a single mom of 4, no child support at all. I spent my stimuless (ha). On my kids. Food and unlforms for school. There is no way that this is really going to halp anyone with the way that things are today. I don't even drive my car anymore, I can't afford gas. Public transportation is even worse, it is crazy. People in my situation are sure to drown sooner than later. "

Stimulate what?
"I spent my stimulus check on food and clothing for my son and I. It didn't go far. Of course, because I am a single mother with a low income job, I didn't get as much as others. How's that for sense?"

Stimulus my Arss
"Homes foreclosures, gas prices, unemployment rate & utilities rising; our check was spent on gas, food, mortgage & utilities. Anything else was not an option. Baby Bush is only trying to disguise the fact that he's screw up and a terrorist at heart. "

"I paid for my kitten Ike's neutering and shots. The rest of it went for groceries and my electric bill. "

Reality
"I spent mine stocking up my home with staples from BJ's Warehouse and tried to save some but my car needed repairing at the cost of $400. I was planning on saving some for car repairs anyway. I stocked up because my mom and I are trying to make ends meet and she is disabled and unable to work. I was hoping that by doing this it would free up enough money each month for gas. I also spent a little on bead - I make jewelry."

My Stimulus Went To GAS & BILLS.. THANKS ALOT.
"I paid my BILLS and bought GAS for my car with my stimulus check... Thanks a billion...NOT. Maybe next time I'll have enough left over for something FUN, considering the USA is at a war we have no business being in, and we could have just spent the war funding elsewhere. Like somewhere that it actually has a PURPOSE. F*** off George Bush. -Rob"

Home or Health... but not both.
"Put it in savings to stave off going broke for one extra month. My husband was recently laid off and nobody's hiring. My whole paycheck now goes to the mortgage, gas, and COBRA. If this keeps up, we will have to choose between the house and health care."

529 plan - College Savings
"My husband and I put the $300 designated for each of our two dependents in thier 529 plan. My half of 'our' money ($600) went to pay down credit card/home equity debt from a basement remodel project and to buy groceries and such basic stuff as new jeans, tennis shoes, socks and underwear."

Groceries, investment, and strippers
"I spent my $600 rebate on store gift cards at Albertsons. They matched it with a 10% bonus, so I got $660 to put towards my grocery bills. Since that was money I was going to spend anyway, I also transferred $150 to my IRA, $150 to my Roth IRA, $150 to Prosper.com, and went to a strip club with the last $150. I still lost less money at the club that night than I did on the stock market that day (and 'Taylor' at least gave me good value for my money)."
