No longer driving around with no insurance
"I had been driving around for a month with no insurance on my car (I know shame on me), so I started an insurance policy. While I was at AAA I also bought Cedar Point tickets (this was planned, not an impulse buy!), I go at least once every year, except last year I couldn't afford it. The rest got spent on groceries and gas. I still hate Dubya with a passion though."

"I wish I could have gotten a Wii for our family but that didn't happen. I payed off a bill for a bed that I had bought for someone else. A major part of the rest went to bills... (I.E. Electric, cable, Car Insurance.) My wife used some to help someone else out on one of her friends bills. Some went to gas and groceries. A friend of ours never had a new bick so we bought her one along with a few other random things. Then it was gone in a week... So aside from bills I think I only stimulated about $200 out of our $1200."

"Squirt" had a great day
"Since we had a balance due to the Infernal Revenue, they naturally got theirs right off the top. We were left with about 400. So I paid the property taxes on our pick-up and helped our Grand "Squirt" have a great birthday. Lord help us all."

Stimulate our desires.
"Minus the guy on the bike, this picture sums it up. I had big plans, like a new pool for the kids for the summer and maybe a trip. Nope. Groceries and gas. oh and my husbands business insurance premium so he could keep working."

No Fun With My Check
"I spent most of my $1200 on groceries at Costco. I was really able to stock up. This will save on grocery spending for many months. The rest went to pay bills."

Where did all that money go?
"My husband and I have 5 children so we received $2100. I really cannot figure out how $2100 got spent within a week, but I know that the majority of it went towards gasoline (we are at $4.15/gallon here in IL) and groceries (Walmart) and bills. I did spend $100 at oldnavy.com and I did pay $212 for my summer college course that I am taking next week. I also spent about $300 on food and beverages for my graduation party. Other than that, I don't know where it went! "

Victory Garden Mentality
"I spent my check buying materials for a large home garden - including a Mantis tiller, seeds, small greenhouse, books on gardening and seed saving and hoes and rakes. Food is just getting too expensive, especially fresh fruit and veggies. This investment will keep us in food for a many years to come."

Broke again!
"I bought all 5 of my kids season passes to Kings Dominion, reserved a campsite for a couple of days while on vacation, put gas in the mini van, and bought some groceries. Needless to say the groceries are all gone and so is the gas. Now we're struggling all over again. Yes, the money was nice for a few days, but it doesn't last long enough to make a difference."

The IRS spent my Stimulus $$$
"I didn't even see mine. The IRS lined it's pockets with mine to stimulate the Trillions in National Debt that we owe. How did that stimulate the economy? Who knows? But if I did get it it would have been put into savings."

No Fun Money Left :(
"Well, I had plans to redo the floor in my foyer, or buy paint for the kitchen, or take a weekend holiday somewhere, but WOW! The money came around the same time as my payday, I bought a few extra groceries, 1 cheap outfit at walmart, some sox and....... boom! it was all gone and I got nothing out of it. So, everytime I look at my new sox, or my outfit or eat that piece of chicken, I keep thinking there's a $900.00 meal. What the heck happened to it. I'm so sad :( Please Mr. Bush, can I have another one?"

I usually do the cooking but recently moved 4 hours from home, now they can enjoy the same and feel like I am there cooking for them... aleviates my guilt of not being there : ) I also bought a couple of saute' pans."

"Our big purchase was an HDD camcorder to capture the development of our baby girl, Liliana. After much searching I finally found a coupon to save a little bit at Circuit City and pulled the trigger. The rest of the check? Probably little things like a trip to Costco, stuff for the baby, and maybe split the rest 50/50 with the wife."

Music, grub, babies, and beards
"First I bought an iPod Nano to listen to while I am in labor in about 5 weeks. Then I spent some of the money on a ridiculous cereal shopping spree. A bit more went to some last needed baby items. And finally, about half of it is in savings for our trip to Anchorage, Alaska next summer for the World Beard and Moustache Championships. Thanks to Bush I can listen, eat, labor, and fondle beards in comfort!"
