  • Circumcision

"We had a baby. We splurged on giving or boy a circumcision. The healthcare facility/doctor felt $600 was a fair price for the 15 minute procedure. The remaining $600 went to doctor bills and decorating the nursery. Thanks!"

  • Stimulus Check: The Love Letter

"Dear Stimulus Check, I will miss you. I held you in my hands for a total of a day. That is, before the mean evil dentist sensed you sitting in my purse. She insisted I hand you over to her in the full amount. I intended to spend you on shoes and booze. Ah well. Love, Laurne"

  • New hearing aids

"I just got my check and it's going straight to my wonderful, loving aunt who let me borrow some money for new hearing aids. I wear two hearing aids and one of them was held together with super glue so it was time for a new pair. But they lasted me 11 years so hopefully I won't have to buy another pair for a very long time. Thanks, auntie! "

  • To my health!

"I finally had my wisdom teeth out(all four). Been putting it off hoping to get insurance first, but then theres a waiting period after that... We had enough income to qualify but not enough to get the full amount & we only got $600, it covered just under half of the expenses. "

  • Government has Something Wrong!

"$1,300 of my $1,500 check went to my husband's illegitimate child who doesn't even carry his last name! The remaining $200 helped buy much needed clothing for my three children and some prescription medications. Still leaves on living on Food Stamps and searching for jobs to help fuel our one car. GET THIS: A Stimulus check came to this house addressed to the person in the picture, who happens to be here illegally from Mexico. There are also people actually living in Mexico who with the help of a P.O. Box in Texas, receive Social Security Checks and have never worked a day in their lives in the United States. How does that happen?"

  • Walking tall

"My daughter was born with club foot. She had her first surgery at three weeks old. Now at eight she was in need of another heel cord clipping and a tendon trasnfer. Yes, we have insurance but they don't pay for much. Not to mention the doctor visits every two weeks until everything heels. We were so relieved when our check came in it helped pay for the deductable and the gas for taveling to and from the hospital and clinic. (We live 30 miles away from where the hospital is.) I'm really glad the government gave us a little bit of releaf."

  • Paying off baby!

"We paid off hospital bills from our newest little addition. I'm sure there are more enjoyable ways to spend the flux of cash... but we felt getting rid of the over priced hospital bills that were coming in was the responsible thing to do. :) "

  • In a hairy pickle...

"2 weeks after my much-needed sinus surgery in May my 2 year old son, whose nickname is Pickle, was scheduled for surgery to remove a rapidly growing mole (aka a hairy nevus) on his bottom for fear it was cancerous. It was only about 2 inches big, but due to the change in pigmentation, rapid growth and other factors, it was recommended that we have it removed as soon as possible. The placement of it on his bottom required a large incision (about 4 inches long) and general anesthesia. It has healed well, but his scar is large and painful. So are the medical bills. After insurance we'll still be paying over $2K out of pocket for these medical expenses. Even though the anticipation of hearing the biopsy results for the mole was anxiety inducing, we are relieved that the results have come back negative for cancerous and precancerous cells... the silver lining to spending our stimulus money on these medical bills."

  • Not Enough Help

"In less than an hour on the phone I spent my check on bills. Just trying to get caught up so we can make it through these rough times, if only they would had sent $4000 more I would be caught up on our debt. We even managed to pay for our daughters’ graduation party. What they don’t tell you is if your child is 18 that child does not qualify, kind of a kick in the face I think. Still have debt, made no new purchases and will not for a long time. "

"3 days prior to recieving my stimulus check, my husband and I had our first child. Without this check, I would not have been financially able to take any maternity leave. I used this check to pay bills that would have been covered by my paycheck."

  • OMG, WE NEEDED THAT MONEY ......

"Well this is a little different... My husband & I received our letter informing us Our Stimulus check had gone out... We were very excited.. We were going to go to a 'Car Auction & get a car/clunker. Something to get us around so He can go to work... Wednesday my husband wakes me up, "Hey honey, Our check finally can, sign it so I can go cash it..." he says... BUT... [sniff sniff] when I open it, there's a letter inside stating that 'The entire amount, $600.00 was applied to my husbands VA medical bill!!! I can not describe the pain I got in my chest & still have. I would not have ever imagined that would happen, especially since $200 + is already being deducted from his SSI Retirement check anyway... OMG, WE NEEDED THAT MONEY SO SO VERY BAD !!!"

  • Stimulate the Docs

"Our check went right into the savings account to pay for the upcoming medical bills from dental surgery and other medical expenses. Thanks GW for practicaly nothing! A family of 6 only got $900.........whats wrong with this picture? I dont even think that would have paid for a family trip to the local adventure park. Add gas to the already outragious price to get into those parks, plus all the food and "extras" the kids will "want...mommy please" we wouldnt be able to afford it anyways. So our measly stimulus check went to the docs that already make mucho bucks! "
