New Roof
"Instead of foolishly piddling our stimulus check away (sorry to let you down G Dubya) we are putting ours into repairing our leaky roof. Whatever is left, if any, will likely go to bills.
If the government REALLY wanted to stimulate our economy maybe they should look at ways to lower the cost of living IE gas, oil, groceries and the like. Just another way for our politicians (who have no idea how tight things are right now) to feel that they are giving back to the American people!"

George Bush he's our man bustin' America the best he can
"I bought and installed a used (new to me) 5000 BTU air conditioner for $50.00. The rest I used to stock up with SPAM meat. I did make sure the SPAM had no natural ingredients for best savings!
I have been unemployed for over nine months now. There are no jobs in Naples, Florida, they have all been taken by illegal immigrants. Republicans are liars not leaders. "

I had enough stimulation!
"My husband and I bought a new king size bed, mattress and sheet set. Now we won't have to sleep on the edge when our 2 year old comes sneaking in to bed with us! Thank you for finally giving me enough room to rest! Now if only I could afford a nanny to give my 5 month old his paci in the middle of the night."

Water Therapy
"Since my husband is retired and a 100% disabled veteran he only got $300.00! Since he doesn't pay taxes any more...(is there something wrong with this picture?) I didn't make enough from SS to pay taxes either so I only got $300.00 (hmmm children who never worked got that much!) but I don't want to seem 'ungrateful' because we indeed appreciated the money and did our part to stimulate the economy!
We bought a 'whole house water filter.' It will save us money eventually on buying those expensive refrig. filters! We also plan to spend the balance on a pool cleaner a real luxury for us, as my husbands service connected injuries include a really bad back, so this will eliminate having to spend at least an hour each day pushing that pole around the pool..now he can actually get in it and exercise! (uh, me too )"

Military Retirement
"Once my spouse retires from the USAF, we will be building a log home on a piece of land we bought in Washington, NH. After twenty some odd years of deployments and missions, we will finally and truly be coming home! So, our stimilus dollars went right towards the purchase of the land. Mowing Without Owing.. YEAH!
"We just bought a house and needed a lawn mower. So this is what we got. Purchased at local business not Home Depot. (It was the same price as HD so we figured we'd be good neighbors!)"

Woodstove - sustainable heat !
"This woodstove is also designed to be a cooktop, and it is highly efficient and clean burning. The tile, glass and marble surround is primarily recycled and salvage. Since we live on a forested acre, we've grown our own fuel, too! "

"I used most of the money to pay other people to decimate my monstrously overgrown back yard. I used the rest to buy a spiffy new digital camera, with which this picture was taken."

Roof Over My Head
"I didn't really buy anything per se, but I'm a college kid, so...rent. Honestly, I couldn't have been able to afford rent without it. And, no, I didn't spend all my money on beer."

Their Down-payment
"When my dad got sick, they took away the house. The car. His pride. Everything. Then they did everything they could not to give him social security though he never took a sick day for 30 years. The government didn't care if he ended up on the street while they penny-pinched. We took him and mum in and used ALL of our rebates to pay his health insurance for a couple more months and make our rental house, with holes in the walls, a little more comfortable for him with his oxygen tank. Something the government SHOULD have provided already. It still gives us a good, terrible laugh. Thanks, Uncle Sam, you're so generous."

"We also bought a couple of bicycles. The economy isn't as bad in Oklahoma City as some other areas, but the increase in gas, and food prices are noticeable. I sure wanted a new TV, but maybe next year. LOL"
