Spending the Future Away
"I split my family's $1800 refund between my two sons. Put it into their college savings. I figure they'll have to pay it back, at least they should get the benefit of it!"

All for nought!
"You can see the scenery of the mountains as being beautiful. however the money we got ($1200 ) is saved to reach the max of $5000 and taken out and put in my safe in the basement because there will be a chaos worst than 9/11 coming up ahead. If you wait till the chaos all the banks will go bankrupt since they do not have any assets to back you all up! Best to be prepared than not. Take care."

Steak & Retirement
"I bought some steaks at a restaurant I like because I've usually got to watch my money as a college student (graduation is fast approaching). It benefited me, the restaurant, and my cat. I plowed the rest into my retirement account. Specifically into "AHR" (Anthracite Capital). The dividend yield is around 15% for this relatively solid company."

Some stimulus, eh?
"I banked it to partially offset my Official 2008 Pay Cut when Congress cut a few $100E06 from science to fund W's war in Iraq and then followed by spending $152E09 on this crazy stimulus give-away. "

Money Market Roth IRA
"I opened up a Bank of America Money Market Roth IRA, where the greater your balance, the higher the dividends you earn. $50 minimum to open; make deposits at any time. 2.25% - 2.50% APY. It combines the return of a savings product with the tax advantages of an IRA."

"Our family's stimulus check was direct deposited straight into our savings account and there it sits. Our stimulus check amount can support our family for a month, so it is helping us to reach a goal of six months worth of emergency living expenses."

Saving to stimulate my economy...
"Hmmm... still in the bank... my check arrived via direct deposit to my WAMU checking account. So, what I did initially was transfer 20% to my savings account. The rest will go to paying off debt and possibly some new suits."

a little bit of this, a little bit of that
"I spent $250 on 2 new tires and an oil change, $100 on textbooks, and put the rest in my ING savings account. I would have put all $600 into my savings account, but it was getting to the point that when it rained, it was anyone's guess on if I would be able to stop before rear ending the car in front of me. "

Making it snow on a hot summer day
"I figured I would try and stimulate the economy a little more by allowing people to want to work harder and faster, so I defied Global Warming."

"My stimulus went straight to the bank where it will stay until we have a Democratic administration that will reduce the carpet-bagger economy that the Bush regime has built and fed. It makes no sense to return that money at its current devalued state and reward greed. They'll get my money when the consumer once agina has something to say about the economy and capitalism once again is truly fueled by supply and demand."
