  • One night in Dubai

"One night in Dubai. My way of protesting these ineffective “stimulus” packages that do little more than increase the budget deficit, inflation, and depreciation of the dollar. Makes the politicians look good though."

  • Stimulation for Vacation

"Because I do not believe in a single thing this president has attempted to do for this country, I stimulated the Dominican Republic economy by taking a week vacation there at the end of May...the photo is some cool graffiti I was in Puerto Plata."

  • A Birthday Stimulus

"I bought a plane ticket to Chicago off of priceline.com for $199 roundtrip, then a train ticket to Springfield for $65 roundtrip from Amtrak (with a AAA discount). I used the rest for a large poster frame and reprints of photos to make a birthday collage for my bf. As a graduate student, I only got $300 for my stimulus."

  • Autism Rally!

"I chose to save half of the money and to spend the other half on a trip to DC for my son and I for the "Green our Vaccine" Rally! We definately stimulated someones wallet while there! The experience was worth every penny! With or without the check, we would have been there. Uncle Sam just allowed us to make it more comfortable! "

  • Stretch your dollar in Mexico!

"My wife and I travelled to Mexico for a wonderful vacation in Mazatlan and up the copper canyon. It was good to see and learn more about their culture, and seemed only appropriate that we spent our money in Mexico after the way our country and George Bush has treated them. It is a poor country with high unemployment. But we did see a lot of smiling faces and were treated quite nice. These are our neighbors where some of our products are manufactured. It seems appropriate that we help them with the infrastructure of the country and stop spending so much money on a silly wall, and instead make their homes and cities more desireable to stay in. We do have a lot to learn from the Mexico Culture. "

  • VEGAS BABY!!!

"Vegas, Baby!!! I kept getting those stupid forwarded emails about "don't spend it here, it'll go to the Arabs, don't spend it here becasue it'll go to the Chinese, blah, blah, blah..." So we went to Las Vegas for the weekend and put our winnings in the savings for a later date."

  • A Nice Helpful Push Out of the Country

"We found jobs overseas, but the companies did not offer relocation assistance, so the $1200 that we got jointly will go to a plane ticket. Nothing like using a weakening dollar to go to a more robust and valued economy!"

  • Have Dollars Will Hula

"My Wife and I used our money to help pay down the balance on a time share we purchased in Hawaii. We look at it as "vacation insurance". It gives the whole family something to look forward to every year; and encourages alot of laughter and good times. Can't say we been laughing too much lately as to the state of the economy, gas prices, food and politics. "

  • Alaska loving..

"Since I happened to get my check while I was on vacation in Alaska for my birthday, I decided to spend it on a rental car ($160) and the high as hell gas prices ($4.22/gal). I had fun, drove 1500 miles around the beautiful state - and spent a whopping $250 on gas! The rest went to supporting my stomach over my 9 wonderful days there. What a wonderful way to spend a stimulus check. :)"

  • Pleasure trip without family!

"I live in Texas and received $600, of which I tithed 10% to homeless people. The rest paid for a plane ticket and rental car to join a friend on her business trip to Boston. The conference takes place at an upscale resort and my lodging's free. I'll explore some historical sites important to my ancestors. This will probably be my only travel for 2008 other than visiting immediate family."

  • I bought great memories

"I am paying off the bills I ran up on vacation in Spain. I took 4000 pictures - that much film would have cost more than $600 to develop in the days Before Digital. But now I don't have to buy film - yay more money to spend on wine and ham! "

  • It was a pleasant extra for us

"We went to Cape Cod for a weekend. We drove, ate at great restaurants and shopped. Just in case you are curious why we did this, it is because we live within our "means" We have no credit card debt, our car was recently paid off, we do not owe a mortgage. Do we make a lot of money, NO! We live in a very expensive area, Hartsdale NY, and make a combined income of about $85,000 (not a lot for this area) We have always waited until we had the money to spend the money. That is the key. We received $1,200 total in tax refund, but we didn't spend all of it on this little trip. Some went into savings, some towards our longer vacation scheduled for early July. "

  • Money that keeps giving back!

"I bought a Nikon D-40X SLR Digital camera that I've been needing for years to build my photography profile. I also funded a day off from work to put in my resume for a new job, changed banks, and got a loan to consolidate my debt and pay off my car. Now I'm making lower payments with much less debt, I got the new job, and I just bought plane tickets to Phoenix for vacation this September. All of this possible by giving back my 10% back to God!
