Broke again!
"I bought all 5 of my kids season passes to Kings Dominion, reserved a campsite for a couple of days while on vacation,put gas in the mini van, and bought some groceries. "I spent our $1,798.00 stimulus check on three tickets back to the United States from England (with about 50.00 left over!!!). My husband has been augmenting a Security Forces unit with the Air National Guard for the last three years-because he is 'just a guardsmen' the military does not pay for his family to be here, so his time is up and we needed to get back to Cincinnati!! I guess it was better than having to take the $$ out of savings!!"

Went to the "D", that is DETROIT CITY BABY.
"I spent last weekend enjoying a trip to the fantastic "D". I know it sounds a little untraditional for the Memorial Day weekend, but It was a blast. My significant other and I felt the "Louis's" parking the car valet style at the very recognizable GM Headquarters building, the "Ren Cen", Marriott. Detroit was rocking last weekend. The Red Wings, Tigers and the Pistons were all on fire. Not to mention the festive sights and sounds from the nearby Electronic Music Fest. We enjoyed a Tigers game and a concert at the Filmore Theatre. Jason Mraz was in town. . . and boy was the trip worth it. $600 is gone baby gone. Now lets hope it does not go toward Kwame's trial. "

"My family spent a week in Barcelona for my parents' 40th anniversary. My stimulus payment covered the change in costs in the vacation since the dollar is TANKING against the Euro since we started planning. In Oct. 07, one Euro cost $1.43. Now it costs $1.56. It's about a 10% increase in the cost of the vacation to celebrate years of happy marriage and help my folks understand the rest of the world doesn't hate Americans (they had never been to Europe before.) Thank you president Bush, your crummy war, and your crappy economic policy. "

In January, Congress approved $152 billion in economic stimulus checks for millions of American households, intended to boost the economy and avert a recession. Just how this money will be spent remains to be seen. We hope this website helps shed some light on where the stimulus money is going.
