  • Stimulating One's Shopping Engine

"I hired a graphic artist to create this logo, then made it available to resale, thrift, and consignment shops across the country to stimulate their sales. They can use it for staff T-shirts, eco-tote bags, and so on. Being local businesses, and helping their local neighbors recycle goods, is good for the economy, the ecology, and of course independence from foreign oil, polluting energy use...heck, shopping local might even mean a nice healthy walk downtown where you might even meet a neighbor! Now THAT's stimulating."

  • a little bit of this, a little bit of that

"I spent $250 on 2 new tires and an oil change, $100 on textbooks, and put the rest in my ING savings account. I would have put all $600 into my savings account, but it was getting to the point that when it rained, it was anyone's guess on if I would be able to stop before rear ending the car in front of me. • I was robbed!

"I gave all $200 to my CPA's $300 bill so I would only owe the IRS $1200. But that is not all.. came to find out I was also a victim of ID theft cause the IRS would not accept e-filing. Which is another reason I needed a CPA.. And this is the first time I ever OWED the IRS?? go figure!"

  • Stimulte this, buy a house.

"I took my $900 check and $100 from savings to write an escrow check to Chicago Title so I could buy a new house on my VA benefit. Now my kids don't have to sleep on my sofa and love seat for the 96 hours a month I get them, because of how high and dry my X left me while I was gone in the Arabian Gulf. Six years of living in barracks, ships, and studio apartments, now I have my own home and my kids their own rooms when they visit, hopefully for more than 2 weekends a month. "
