  • Roof Over My Head

"I didn't really buy anything per se, but I'm a college kid, so...rent. Honestly, I couldn't have been able to afford rent without it. And, no, I didn't spend all my money on beer."

  • See you in Mexico!

"I'm putting my stimulus check toward a vacation I was already planning on taking. I'm going to resort in Puerto Vallarta, MX. I bet Bush didn't think that Americans would spend their money to go to a country where the $ is worth something! It was this, or the savings account, where it may still end up."

  • Spend less, live better

"Our family's stimulus check was direct deposited straight into our savings account and there it sits. Our stimulus check amount can support our family for a month, so it is helping us to reach a goal of six months worth of emergency living expenses."

  • Frozen in Michigan

"I spent mine to pay the Dorm reservation fee, and an old fee for a recreation pass that I never used last semester. And thanks to the stimulus check I could go to an anime convention instead of using my paycheck to pay for the aforementioned ^.^ And I took my parents out to the only decent mexican place in town."

  • Bobby won't get to Puppy Lake...Yet

"We took our elderly dog Bobby to the vet for vaccinations, a check up and to get some doggie pain meds. We know it's only putting off the inevitable trip to "Puppy Lake" for a short time, but we should be able to keep him around in relative comfort for the next few months. Cost: $490 "

  • Life's a beach... for 1 week...

"Our payment just about covers the costs of our 1 week beach rental. At the end of last year we weren't planning on making a 2008 trip until we found out about the stimulus check. At least the money will be staying in my state. "

  • Ruger LCP

"We bought 2 Ruger LCP .380 handguns. Guns are good! These are small, easily concealable weapons. High quality too, for the price, and made in Prescott, AZ USA. One cannot have enough guns, especially right now as none of the presidential candidates is pro-gun. Get 'em now, while you can!"

  • Their Down-payment

"When my dad got sick, they took away the house. The car. His pride. Everything. Then they did everything they could not to give him social security though he never took a sick day for 30 years. The government didn't care if he ended up on the street while they penny-pinched. We took him and mum in and used ALL of our rebates to pay his health insurance for a couple more months and make our rental house, with holes in the walls, a little more comfortable for him with his oxygen tank. Something the government SHOULD have provided already. It still gives us a good, terrible laugh. Thanks, Uncle Sam, you're so generous."
