  • "I lost my job a month before I (finally) got my check. About a week later I brought home these two little guys because I needed something positive in my life. The check itself is still laying on my desk because I'm trying to decide what bill I can afford to pay this month: my car insurance, my car payment, or my rent. I'd rather trade the $300 check for a better economy so I can find a job."

  • Ironic, don't you think?

"I am going to pay for a lawyer so I can file bankruptcy! Hey, at least I get to keep the house. I know I'm making light of this, and I shouldn't, but it is the truth."

  • Hello stimulus check! Goodbye stimulus check...

"I spent my stimulus learning a life lesson. I bought this king-sized bed (on credit) so that my boyfriend and I would have plenty of room to sleep. Of course, as often happens in relationships, a few months later we broke up. (Perhaps it was the curse of buying the big bed? Kinda like getting their named tattooed on you?)And now I am stuck with this great big bed for a little me, and a great big bill from Visa for my tiny budget. I've learned not to buy things I can't afford - especially when in the future, I probably won't even need them! "

  • Gas, $300, Rent, don't ask. Working at NASA? Priceless.

"OK, I didn't buy the Space Shuttle. But I did buy gas, which got me from Colorado to Florida so I can do a summer internship at Kennedy Space Center. Now if only that paid a little more, I could break even on this deal, but as a credit card commercial would say, the experience is *priceless*. "

  • Thanks W&Co!

"For Illustrative Purposes I pulled out some cash to display here. If it were not for this website we probably never would have taken any real notice of our "stimulus" payment... it went directly toward our outstanding credit card balances. I am never one to look a Gift Horse in the mouth (even one addled with questionable intent) So I mean it when I say - Thanks W&Co!"

"My stimulus check came just in time to cover the bill for Lexus Driving Academy. Flogging a $64,000, 416-hp V-8, 8-speed, sports sedan around a track with pro driver instruction. Energy crisis? What energy crisis?"
