"I wrote a nice big fat check to the credit card that I have been using all month, waiting for my stimulus check. I still owe two months back electricity! Think we'll see anymore?"

Government Takes Not Gives
"Well I didn't actually get to buy anything. Social Services took my refund because they said I owed them money. Why? Because apparently when I was 17 I came into some stock and they failed to notice it until last year. Hell I didn't even know I had it there. Now they are taking my taxes and whatever else because they said I lied. If I knew I had money there, then I wouldn't have had to apply for federal help to help support me and my children. I think its messed up that they knew about my stock and waited until last year to come after me. I am going to fight this!"

Movin' on up
"Since I was college this past year I only qualified for $300. It all went to pay for the security deposit on a house my boyfriend & I will move into in a few weeks. I can't wait to move out of my tiny apartment so that my dogs can have a safe fenced back yard to run in every day. It is worth every penny."

Gas, Food & Bills
"My hubby and I spent our $600 on three things. 1. GAS ($100) 2. Bonus to the Student Loan repayment ($360) 3. Groceries - we bought fruit from our local farmers market and made jams and jellies ($140) We finished paying off our Credit Card debt in October of 2007 and now we are working on our student loans!! Fat Fi's Tube Head
"My fierce hound, Fidel the People's Wiener, picked a fight with a bigger dog (again!), suffered some blows, but was generally fine. Three days later, his pin head swelled to the size of a large orange. Hence, the brain drain. Since I'm totally underemployed right now, I used the Man's $ to pay for Fi's surgery. At least he got his teeth cleaned while under, too."

What does ENOUGH really mean?
"I have enough of everything - I donated my refund to Meals on Wheels. I couldn't help thinking how much we could change the world if even half these rebates were donated. Think about it."

"I got a solar water tank to heat water with solar power. Oil and gas companies won't see any of my rebate money!"

This is what we did with $774
"Even though I work as a tax preparer during the season, my husband and I were both skeptical of this whole "free money" idea. we did not make plans for the money before we had it, but waited and to see what we would like to have had when we did. we both were paid from our jobs the same week so we had quite a surplus of extra money. (for our standards anyhow) we ended up purchasing a 19" lcd computer monitor, added some much needed items to our wardrobes, finally had a stereo installed in our car, and went out a night and seen some djs. our check didnt get us too far but we were able to get a few things a little earlier we had been saving to get. what little was left went towards gas and groceries for a few days."
