• Donations to Help the Country

"I'm appalled that Bush would increase the national debt by sending people money so they could go shop. I'm donating most of my check to the Obama campaign to help the Democrats win the election and change the tenor and direction of our country. The rest of my check will go to a local food bank to help people who REALLY need help."

  • Good for you...I still enjoyed sending my money shopping!

  • Whenever someone credits Bush on here, all the Liberals rush to say it was the Democrats in Congress who granted the stimulus checks and you can thank them. Now that someone blames Bush, where are the Dems? Want to be angry at someone Barbara? You can blame the Democrats in Congress for the stimulus checks, resulting national debt, and resulting decrease in the value of the dollar.

  • Consider the source and timing. ITS A TAX REFUND!!! If you don't want it send it right back to the IRS with a little note attached, "Please use my stimulus to pay down our national debt. Thanks." You would surely be billed as a great American patriot for such an act.

  • Wait a minute, KinSlayer. I thought it was the commie liberal Dem Congress that DID pass the stimulus. See "Really" above.

You guys need to get your talking points in order, ha!

  • Actually Really,
It's a prebate, not a tax refund. Unless another "stimulus" is passed, we will pay every penny back next tax season.

    Sean,
Kind of a stupid remark dude.

    Melissa,
Yeah, the dems passed it. In the same way the dems passed bush all of his powers. The ignorance of the populace about how the economy works and what will be most cost effective for the nation will almost always trump actually doing what will be most cost effective and best for the nation. So keep up the ignorance and we'll all keep fighting over the crumbs from the Fat Cat's tables. That warm wet feeling down the back of your neck that smells like piss is that "trickle down economics" we've all heard so much about.

  • May this be a precursor to the return of government cheese?

  • Holy shit this site was set up the worst way possible. Why would there be a line separating your comment from your name? But not separating the last poster? How stupid. So my comments were meant for

    in that order. Jesus.

  • You're a dope!

  • Obama doesn't need it. His poor grandmother living in a hut in Africa sure does. Can't you think of a better place to send your money than to Obama? Hell, he eats better than me. Give me your darn check.

  • The dumb crap that people write on here blows my mind. People go running their mouths about issues they have no idea about. Not to be biased, but it tends to be the democrats. What you fail to realize is that national debt is not a bad thing, because its not really debt. No one is going to come to the US government collecting on any of this debt, because they are no going to get it. It has been an extremely rare case that the US or any other country has ever paid off their debt, because it is not expected that they pay it.

  • You're giving your money away to Barack? What a waste of money. He probably spent it on his cheesy smile and on people crafting his pathetic, baseless rhetoric.

Posted by: Robert Jun 13th, 11:58

  • Rick, are you kidding me? Do you know what savings bonds and T-bills and money-market accounts are?

Yeah, it's always those democrats... sure.

"Debt isn't debt." That's a Republican for ya! Sounds just like 1984!

Posted by: Poopyhead Jun 14th, 00:45

  • First off the stimulus checks aren't creating national debt, they are just an advance on next years tax returns. Obama is nothing more than a good public speaker. I hope he isn't elected to change the direction of this country, He'll allow terrorist in to kill us. He'll tax the hell out of us and before long will be telling us how to spend our money. He should be considered the communist party

Posted by: adam Jun 20th, 10:03

  • Adam, "an advance on next years tax returns" sounds just like borrowing (i.e. debt) to me. Please explain how it's not.

As for your Obama smears, I'll just say I disagree.

Posted by: Poopyhead Jun 20th, 11:28

  • "debt isn't debt"?
What kind of 1984 double talk is this? I'm sure that all those senior citizens whose Social Security benefits constitute a large percentage of our national debt will understand when the nice man in the nice suit explains to them that the money they put in for all these years isn't coming back to them because nobody really expects the government to pay their debt.
The solution? Just publically shame the elderly by calling their promised benefits 'entitlements' and tell grandpa to get a job at Walmart.

Oh yeah, I think the Chinese might have a different opinion about the issue when they start cashing in their Treasuries.

--oh and thanks sardog, I love your 'trickle down' quote.

  • How are these checks adding to our National Debt? I'm confused. These checks aren't adding to national debt, and they aren't stimulating the economy.

What they ARE doing is separating the idiots from the smart people. Just read this site...1 in 15 is doing something wise with the money, the other 14 are not.
