"We placed all of our $2,400.00 in an emergency fund. (Thanks Dave Ramsey) We were fortunate that the same day our check came my husbands paycheck had tripled due to overtime. So we paid all of our monthly expenses for the next two months and placed the stimulus check into an emergency account. It feels good knowing it's there. BTW, aside from our mortgage we are DEBT FREE! And people, you CAN live without credit cards!"

  • Yay intelligent American's who don't whine to the government and blame the government for all their financial troubles. :]

Credit Cards are for people who can't stop indulging in meaningless trife.

  • This post is a breath of fresh air. Finally somebody else on this country that lives by a budget and knows how important a emergency fund is. Dave rocks! It's a shame that people are driven by cheap crap made in China instead of taking care of things at home...

  • Rock on, Michelle. I'm a 29 year old Ramseyite who, 3 years ago was in credit debt $13K+. I know have a net worth that just reached 6 figures last month and am debt free. Guess what I did with my check? FNBO Direct e-savings account which will go to my home purchase next summer when I bail out some poor fool trying to dump their home because they're drowning.
