• Tax Season In Indiana

"Hey, I live in Indiana, and we just got the final bill for last years property taxes. They went up so high they had to break them up and bill us over two years, we won't get the first tax bill for this year until next winter. My check is going to pay for part of our bill, maybe the feds can do this every year and help pay our Indiana property tax every year!"

  • THANK YOU FOR THE ENTRY ON USING THE STIMULUS CHECK ON A "PORTION" OF YOUR PROPERTY TAXES. I LIVE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND SPENT MY BIG "$300.00" ON A SMALL PORTION OF MY PROPERTY TAXES. NOW MIND YOU, I DO NOT OWN A REAL HOUSE. ONLY A MANUFACTURED HOME IN A MOBILE HOME PARK. YET, MY PROPERTY TAXES ON AN UNDER 1,000 SQ. FT. HOUSE ARE $2,800.00 A YEAR. NO REAL PROPERTY, JUST THE LIVING STRUCTURE. IT IS ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WANT TO CRY!

  • JOBEMM Thanks, not much different in Indiana. Our dear governor has messed up our property tax system to the point that we don't know how much we owe. We got the final tax bill for 2007 in July 08, then we got a tax rebate, and a bill for 2008 taxes which was already due, so the rebate went towards the first of this years tax bill. We won't get the final 2008 bill until some time next year. Our governor tells us that the bills are getting smaller, I wish I lived in the state he does because mine go up every time. This can't go on. I'm glad this is an election year, because I will vote for the other guy (lady)
