    "My rebate went to paying off my car insurance, paying my Dad back for airplane ticket to a wedding I have to go to (credit was ruined in the last year), and food for this weekend. Still not enough to pay off this parking ticket and the body damage to my car from last years major snow storm. I would have been happier if my credit card company stopped upping my limit without telling me while my Mom was dying."

  • My condolences regarding your mother. However, how is it the credit card company's responsibility that YOU ruined YOUR credit by overspending? Just because they made a larger credit line available to you does not abrogate your responsibility to spend beyond your ability to manage that credit line. I am so damn sick of "my credit got ruined" stories. It's all on YOU. YOU ruined YOUR credit. Period.
