• Made just a LITTLE too much to get a rebate

"Because I made over $75,000 last year (just over), I didn't get a check. Then, just when the checks started coming out, I was laid off with no end in sight. So, I could really use the money, but because I feel on the low end of the ceiling, I get nothing. We are buying store brand groceries, consolidated to an economy vehicle, cut our cable and are just paying our bills. I guess we count as higher middle class BUT we TOO are completely Affected by this economy and the arguments on Capitol Hill by millionaire representatives that care more about their terms than the folks they represent! And don't get us started on the baloney discussions regarding Oil..."

  • Now you are in the same boat as a lot of people are. I've been buying store brands for years and do not have cable. I can't really muster any sympathy for you. I would think with a salary of $75,000 you would have a pretty good savings account.

  • I'm the AUTHOR of this posting:

Savings account because I had a $75,000 salary? That's a mere shilling in one of the most heavily taxed crooked States in the US. By the way, that $75,000 is comparable to other states at $40-50,000. It's all relative. So before you post, get your facts straight. At least we didn't buy a gun, illegal fireworks, or some luxury toy like a lot of folks here. Had a rebate been delivered, it would have gone to groceries. It's a shame that our nation is so full of ignorant people. No wonder the politicians have their way with US citizens. Money and a few brains GO A LONG WAY in this country!

  • After reading some of the comments on this site, it looks like folks simply enjoy kicking folks when they're down. Reminds me of the hit and run in CT a few weeks ago (on Today show and National News), and while a man lay dying in the street, onlookers stood by on their cell phones on the sidewalk doing nothing, while motorists veered around the injured man while staring. What happened to people caring for people and helping those in need. Btw, before I lost my job, we made frequent food and clothing donations to our local shelters to help those less fortunate. Now, we can't do that, because we have to help ourselves. We tried to make a difference. CAN any of YOU say the same?

  • I can see why you lost your job.

  • Why is that Charles, because my family and I care about others, OR is it simply because you're one of the ignorant Jackasses to whom I was referring without a life trolling a site and trying to be funny?

  • props to you, author. get 'em. they are just ignorant jackholes who enjoy watching us squirm when we're down.
