• I bought a puppy!

"I bought a new puppy, she cost exactly $600! We needed a friend for our other Papillion and although I spent all of my money, she was more than worth it!"

  • Your dogs are awesome. Last December, I rescued a 6 month old Papillon from a vet where it had just had a $2000 surgery the owner could not afford. Turns out, the owner had fed her only people food and a chicken bone was stuck in her stomach. She is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. I leanred alot about the breed, and I will forever get Papillons now because they are so lovable and stay so clean, which is great for me becuase i live in an apartment. I LOVE PAPILLONS. Glad to see you got a friend for yours, I also have a cocker spaniel and they are best of friends. Good luck, and you have beautiful dogs.

  • Cute pup! I'm sure someone will post that you should have adopted but they're so busy scolding that they forget that shelter dogs have problems and you better know how to handle them. You knew what you wanted and you got one that will have a good life in a happy home. Good for you!

  • Perhaps next time you'll adopt a dog from a shelter and not pay $600 for a dog who likely was raised in a puppy mill (look it up) and due to inbreeding will have severe health problems leading to a premature death. Trust me, I used to breed pure Labs. Sure, everyone has the "my pure breed lived 'till 18" but that is the exception to the rule. Buying animals is WRONG. We have enough animals that are available for free. If you waited a bit, I'm sure you would have even found a Papillon in a shelter. I wish you tried.

  • I appreciate the comments, I love my dogs more than anything and I think they were more than worth it, bought or rescued. I agree that animals need to be rescued and I've got all my cats from rescue's....but I think all animals need homes, no matter where they came from. My puppy is happy and healthy and I surely doubt it will die a premature death but thanks for the nice words :)
