Thanks for (officially) nothing George W. Bush
"I bought a white 3G iPhone BEFORE I found out that although the government sent me a letter saying I could expect my $600 soon- I'm not getting a check after all. Turns out my parent's accountant claimed me as a dependent even though I filed my own tax return and don't depend on them financially. Also, I'm 25. Now I have a $300 bill to pay for the phone. The other $300 I was going to use (like many others on here) to help pay off my medical debt. I'm uninsured, struggling financially through graduate school, and can't wait until things get better. The good news is the iPhone is amazing! "

You don't have health insurance, but you bought a $300 phone? Priorities!

Never, ever count your chickens before your eggs are hatched. I'm sorry this happened to you but as a journalist you should know better than to trust your government.

medical debt - uninsured - struggling financially ?
Your a real tool - glad you got your priorities straight.

It's not the government's fault that you don't have insurance or that you bought a brand new phone before you actually had the money in hand.

At least you will have a phone to keep in touch with your DEBT COLLECTORS

Why would you buy an iPhone if you're struggling financially? That's $300 more you're in the hole.

maybe you should turn that finger to your parents accountant. why at 25 would the accountant think you should still be a dependent?? as others have pointed out, maybe don't spend money that you don't have. struggling?? yeah you should really pick your head up and look around this world and you'll see some true struggles. look it up on your iphone...

First of all brainiac, well done spending money you don't have. second, congratulations blaming everyone else and failing to take any personal responsibility. for... i don't know not understanding how this stimulus check system was supposed to work. third, way to get the selfish blaming wrong. you need to look at mommy and daddy who probably financially gained from claiming you.
but don't worry, I mean maybe 25 isn't old enough to be worried about these things. Big opinions and no facts are what's truly important anyway, right?

It took you until age 25 to figure out that you don't spend money you don't have? Oy.
