Property Taxes are a BEACH!
"I wish I could say that I spent my pathetic $300 stimulus on a trip to some exotic beach...but instead I spent $50 on a tank of gas and spent the day a few hours away in Venice (picture) and the rest made a very small dent in my $26,000 PROPERTY TAX bill! Thanks Sammy!"

You're not trying to make us feel sorry for someone who can afford a house so large the tax bill is $26 grand and is already retired at 39 are you? Cause that would be just plain silly...

Come on Eric, you don't feel sorry for her? I do, she should have been able to retire at 29. Give us a break Cristina in Tarpon Springs, Eric is right, if you can't afford it, don't buy it and make others feel sorry for you. We will all probably have to work until we're 89 while your sipping cool drinks at your fancy beach house living off stimulus checks!!

To set the record straight ( Eric and James :o) )... I wasn't looking for pity, in fact, was just illustrating the utterly RIDICULOUS! My "retired" description, in all actuality...is my attempt at making "disabled" a little less unattractive! Instead of maybe picturing some pathetic woman with a peg leg or a tail, I'd rather someone think of me as someone who had enough to get by without having to work.
I am turning 40 next month and "retired" is how I'm feeling at the moment.
I can't lie, I have a beautiful home in a gated community...and I just wanted to "BEACH" about how ridiculously high one's property taxes can be!
It's fun that you all commented though! Thanks guys!

...oh and by the way, before someone gets me on the "disabled thing"...I had a really bad bout with Breast Cancer which I survived...thank Goodness...of course the Tax Collector is very relieved as well...

You could sublet your place for a couple months and cover your property taxes.
