  • Alas and alack! You've realized that you stimulated not only the US trade deficit, but the ecological footprint of your check (all those cargo ships plying the oceans!) And probably you got less than you would have liked as well, value-for-your-dollar-wise.

    Perhaps it's time to explore (for patriotic, budgetary, and earth-friendly reasons) your local recycle shops. I see there's a handful on your island, and hopefully, there's a couple of really GREAT consignment, resale, or thrift shops to help you look chic on the cheap, and to turn your cluttered closets into cash at the same time!

  • Kate, I second the recycle/thrift shop emotion... I've been doing the thrift store thing lately because I generally like the idea of recycling things that are still in good condition and that I'm very, very cheap these days.
