• Bobby won't get to Puppy Lake...Yet

"We took our elderly dog Bobby to the vet for vaccinations, a check up and to get some doggie pain meds. We know it's only putting off the inevitable trip to "Puppy Lake" for a short time, but we should be able to keep him around in relative comfort for the next few months. Cost: $490 "

  • Bobby's lucky to have such caring people as you. I have a very soft spot for aging dogs and the folks who care for them.

  • That's a really nice comment. Bobby was already 14 and we had two dogs of our own when we took him in last year. His owner passed away and he had nowhere to go. He is the only dog I've ever had that lets me put a blanket on him, which really cracks me up.

  • Old dogs are the best and people who own and care for them deserve permanent good karma. I miss my 16.5 year old beagle who died in 2006.

  • Bless your hearts for making him as comfortable as can be. DOG is GOD spelled backwards!

  • I have a 10 year old Border Terrier and I'd do the same thing if/when he needs it. This was a great post to see.

  • The only time my pets have allowed me to put a blanket on them (that they kept on) was last winter when our heat was broken for like two weeks and our house was absolutely freezing.
