"Spent ours on a Bulldog Puppy as a breeding investment(AKC papers and all). So we should see our stimulus, plus some, again in about a year and a half. Now we just pray she isn't sterile."

  • Adorable! Wishing you lots and lots of puppies ;)

  • May I suggest that you please don't think about breeding your puppy? There's millions of unwanted pets already, and breeding animals is not a very profitable solution either. Let the professionals do the job of maintaining and perfecting the breed standard.

  • Why do you call her a "new family member" if you're only looking at her as an investment?

Thanks for adding to the overpopulation of dogs.

  • Please, please educate yourself before becoming another "backyard breeder." Proper breeding takes a LOT more than AKC papers, and is done to improve the breed, not for profit. Among the requirements: titles (not AKC, but champion), genetic testing, spay-neuter contracts, background checks on prospective owners, etc. AKC registration no more makes a dog suitable for breeding than having four wheels makes a car a Ferrari.

Please spay, keep, and love your new family member, and look into bulldog rescue if you love the breed.

  • I can only pray that she is! Did you know that THOUSANDS of animals are killed daily? Shame on you...maybe you should have invested it in an education so you could get a real job.

  • Good luck *insert sarcasm here*! They can't breed by themselves; the females can't deliver naturally, they need a c-section to have those adorable puppies. How do I know this? My sister also got a breeding pair of bulldogs; now the female is going home to her previous owner who is more educated in the breed.

  • I think all of you need to Shut up!! Maybe he knows a little about breeding, ever think of that? Of course not you are all probably trying to figure out what bills you are going to pay with your check.

I say breed away she is adorable and I am sure you won't have a problem selling them.

  • selling the pups to who? Someone else that views their dog as an ATM. This is disgusting and I hope YOU are sterile.

  • Hope you saved some of the money for health testing your dog prior to breeding her. Have you bred animals before? It shouldn't be for money, but for a love of the breed.

  • I would just like to mention she wont be much of an investment with her puppies more like a debt but one that should be priceless to you and your family as you try to better this amazing breed of dog.

You also cant breed her till shes about 2+ years old and will only get at most around 3-4 litters

Take it from someone who used to show dogs:

Entering her in akc shows trying to win best in breed/show.

Genetic disease testing to clear her of any genetic diseases, if any come up you cant breed her

    Temperament testing

    Researching blood lines and studs

    stud fees

vet fees for a pregnant female

    whelping box with pigrail

potential medical complications with pregnancy plus c-section

potential death of your baby or puppies due to complications.

    socializing and vaccination of puppies

and screening of potential homes for the puppies

its not easy, fast or cheap and it definitely wont make you rich, ive never heard of anyone becoming a millionaire out of reputable breeding, but if its something you and your family enjoy and you can make an improvement in the breed go for it
