• $20 short, that's crazy!

"I'm totally disabled due to a back injury at work and because I had $2980 in income by cashing out my sick leave from work, I was $20 under the required amount to get a stimulus check. I need it badly but don't "qualify", explain that one Bush! I had to charge a whirlpool tub to help my back because I can't afford physical therapy."

  • Oh for goodness sake. There's NO excuse for that. SURELY you had $20 in miscellaneous income during the year that you could declare. Maybe you sold something on ebay... maybe you made some money at a garage sale... Just because it isn't on a W-2 or such doesn't mean it isn't income, and you CAN declare it as such on your tax return as miscellaneous income. You need a better tax preparer.

  • Hey... can you possibly refile - or doesn't it work that way? We are REALLY irritated by the 'stupid people' comment. Surely you did your taxes, but had no idea that you would fall short of the required amount that you probably never knew about (we didn't until we read your post.)
