Relaxation
"Wife and I were going to Puerto Vallarta per my work sending me on a much needed vacation. I suppose our stimulus went to the food, drinks, and outings when we were there. We stayed at the Villa Premier Hotel & Spa, an adult only resort. It was very peaceful and quiet."

Weird -- this is EXACTLY how we spent our stimulus money, too. At the same hotel. Just a week or two before you. And, based on your photo, in a room very near yours. I guess it was a very, very good idea. And yes, it was very relaxing, wasn't it?

:) I loved it! Great service too, nothing like in the states. We went to a few bars as well, and they continually replace your napkin nonstop, just for having some condensation on it! One time I got a beer, before I even took 1 drink someone was replacing my napkin. Not to mention extremely clean places! The hotel was excellent, loved the little massage when you get there and champagne. Hope your trip went well too! We were on 5th floor, almost at the end of the hall room 1209 I think.

Isn't the point of these checks to pump money back into the AMERICAN economy? I mean, I'm all for using your checks to take a vacation, but would it have killed you to go somewhere in the US, where the money you spend might actually be converted back into taxes to, I dunno, stimulate the economy?

Nope, I didn't pay for the trip, my work did. It wasn't my idea to take the trip. Also, you could consider it to be the stimulus check or my own funds, it all came from the same place, the checking account. This trip was planned without regard to the checks. Which I suppose could mean that I put all of it in the bank.
We essentially did nothing with these, and went about our normal spending.

@Nicole: It's an American's right to choose where he or she can go and where he or she spends that money. Get over it.
