• Was it wisely spent? Nope, that's my vote.

"It will help purchasing merchandise for my new internet based business opening in August:: www.ClayBourg.com This said, I think it should have been only distributed to the working poor and for sure it would have ended up back into the economy right away. "

  • Just the working poor? My daughter, who is disabled since birth in a wheelchair, loves to shop, and obviously needs personal care items like the rest of us. Kind of a selfish statement! Unfortunately, she didn't even get a stimulus check; however, some that are "recovering" from drugs and alcohol did! My question, is why didn't she get one? She spends money too. Once again the disabled are over-looked. It's not just the working poor who deserved it. My own situation landed us custody of our two grandchildren in January. Two little expenses our incomes were had not been geared towards.

  • Working poor was an image. I was saying that generally speaking that kind of stimulus should go to people who won't just put it in the bank because they don't really need it. If I remember well it went to incomes up to 150K and although there are people who manage to live from paycheck to paycheck at that level of income, the gvt should have spread it more towards the bottom of the pyramid. Retired who do not pay taxes did not get it either as far as I know but I think they should have if their income was below 150k. I completely agree with you that disabled are left on the side, but not only. That is a bigger question; the question of rethinking the involvment of the government in the social life of its citizen (disabled, VA, social security, health insurance, education, unemployment, long-term disability etc…).
